Domainer TV : Soft Launch
Domainer TV, in its current soft launch phase, is a streaming media project with snippets of the get-togethers, both formal and informal, within the direct navigation or domain name industry.
The project is managed by producer/director team Marcia Lynn and Warren Walker of myrtle beach TV and Myrtle Beach Inc.
Having been a domain investor and developer since the late 90s, Marcia Lynn has been part of (and taken photos at) pre-deanfest-2002 domainfests and subsequent meetings with other domain investors over the years.
For the past two years, Marcia Lynn and Warren have been producing and directing their own TV shows for an affiliate FOX station in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. During their FOX shows production breaks, while traveling to industry conferences, they were also selectively capturing SD and HD broadcast quality footage of social events surrounding the get-togethers.
Ron Jackson of DN Journal has conducted a good number of Domainer TV's informal interviews at social gatherings surrounding the conferences and parties. Jothan Frakes, Sevan Derderian, Monte Cahn, and Marcia Lynn have conducted interviews as well.
Domainer Donna Mahony and Friends
Using Marcia Lynn's photos and Warren's footage from a couple domainfests, Marcia Lynn put together a tribue video to her friend and fellow domainer Donna Mahony.Donna was one of the original domainers who initially met others online in the GreatDomains and Afternic chat rooms using the nickname winfreecash.
Most of the people pictured with Donna in the video have known her on- and off-line for many years.
These days, Donna is busy administering the Domain Boardroom, a message board where veteran domainers as well as those new to the industry gather to share knowledge and comraderie.
Donna is also the founder of the highly popular Domainers Choice Awards, the only industry awards where nominees and winners are selected by their peers.

How is the domain name industry viewed by those outside the industry?
The domain name industry is getting noticed. A lot of the press isn't that flattering, and may be responsible for the general public viewing those within this industry in a negative light. The web is moving quickly to video, and just as top print publications have covered the industry, there will be an increasing frequency of domainers exposed publicly in videos.
As HD video is integrated with the web, one of Domainer TV's goals is - through a series of shows and interviews - to help the world learn about the people and companies of this industry, as only those from within it can. In a positive light. The people. The events. The stories. And not just the trailblazing individuals and companies that've been featured in mainstream press, but the ever-increasing number of focused investors and developers who help make up the heart and soul of a newly forming industry.
As development escalates in the industry
As the industry matures, more and more companies within the space will embrace hi-def video on their developed sites, or use professionally produced videos to advertise their products and services. Domainer TV production can help with targeted, co-branded videos.
Although select videos are viewable now, Domainer TV and the four Domainer TV series have tentative full launches scheduled throughout this year, with soft launches occurring continually.
For the past two years, as executive producer and co-director for two weekly televisions shows on the regional FOX channel in the Myrtle Beach/Florence SC area, Marcia Lynn dedicated segments of each show to educating viewers about domain names and direct navigation traffic.
